I used to hate reading. I avoided reading at all costs and I can count the number of books I read in high school on one hand. (I read Cliff Notes to help me pass my book tests.) It wasn't until I discovered Mary Higgins Clark that I started to somewhat enjoy reading. I started to enjoy reading even more so when I read the Harry Potter series... more »

Haven't got around to reading The Hunger Games yet, sounds like I should bump it up the to be read list. Except I just made the list longer by buying 2 more books today! I've added Catching Fire to my ever expanding wishlist - thanks for the suggestion!

    Greetings Shelfari friend!

Haven't been around much recently, too busy with life!

    How are things with you?

    Read anything good recently?

I'm on my 75th book so far this year!

    Hope all is well...

I know, I haven't been around as much but doing good! Keeping busy w/ work... And making time for good reads! Princess Academy is also very sweet, but I suggest Austenland by Shannon Hale 1st. You'll like that one. How have you been? I miss everyone! I hope you are good!

Jenni how did you like The Goose Girl?? Let me know your thoughts, I am in the middle of Shannon Hale's Princess Academy, and I'm finding it very sweet so far. I am liking it ! I loved Shannon's Austenland and The Book of a Thousnad Days! I'd like to read more of her stuff.

TOTAL SENSE! Trust me...I don't want porn, weird stuff or anything but monogamous relationships. Everyone thinks I'm an old square...I don't care. LOL. Have a great weekend!!!

hmmm....well I don't guess you better read them :-( They aren't porn, but they are more intense than Twilight.

I'm reading Book 3 in the Midnight Breed Series right now...I love this series! Its about vampires and it has a lot of "save the world" type scenes, just really good....plus each one has a happily ever after love story. I'm corny...whatever. ;-)

I was reading your review on City of Bones, trying to find another adult who read it. I looked at your shelf and if you like paranormal romance you have to read:
Night Huntress Series by Jeanine Frost
    Demonica Novels by Larissa Ione
Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter
Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian

Graceling is a great book! The main heroine has a lot of inner-conflict and she's so frickin' awesome! There might be more, I don't know. Paul got it for me at Christmas. I almost bought Hunger Games the other day because of your review and I decided to put it on my shelf to remind me to read it.

Of the 'tons of chick lit' that I've read, Prada's the only one that had the f-bomb. One of the great things about reading is being able to skim and skip the stuff you don't care for.
