I really admire your shelf; I guess in part because we have some books in common and sort of obscure ones at that. e.g. the Roger Simon book and the one about Boston's Catholic identity. But Christopher Buckley?! That turncoat!

I agree with you on Gilder vs. Buckley. Gilder is truly a seminal thinker, able to synthesize different disciplines into a coherent framework. I read him in 1981 and he changed my life forever, literally. WFB is excellent, but never had the same impact.
