“Comment 1: Currently, I am around halfway through “Looking For Alaska” by John Green. So far, I am really enjoying this book and have found it difficult to put down. The story revolves around a boy named Miles Halter, known as Pudge, who goes to a boarding school in Alabama. This book seems to be written for highschoolers and includes the many struggles that we face. This book is very relatable and although we are growing up in Abu Dhabi many of the struggles he faces are very relatable. For example Miles has to face the dramas of making friends, school assignments, having to fit in and being a teenager. One thing that I particularly like about this book is how the narration of the story is from a male point of view. It is very common to pick up a cliché novel about high school written through the eyes of a popular teenage girl, but I like how this book is not at all like that. This book pushes the boundaries a bit and is very revealing into the life of high school students and their mindsets. I also like Green’s writing style as he adds Miles’s thoughts into the text in a way that makes the book more relatable. This book has been very different yet enjoyable and I am very hopeful for it to continue in such a fashion.”
