My, what a varied shelf you have -- I thought that since you've read Saki (although clearly not enough of him), and also dabblel in books on Buddhism, you might also get a kick out of "Hardcore Zen" by Brad Warner. It places soto Zen thought in the larger context of Midwestern hardcore punk music and Japanese horror movies. It really is a fine length of metal floss.

    Birgit,

    Hi. Glad to meet you.

Novels that have made a big impression on me in recent memory are Marilynne Robinson's _Housekeeping_ & very recently, Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy.

Since it's seems you're a 60's sort as I definitely am, I think you might like Suze Rotolo's memoir _A Freewheelin' Time_. If you read it, pklease tell me what you think of it.

Interesting about DC to Barcelona. I'd like to hear about that. Also tell me what reading has made a big impression on you lately.

What a variety of books, Birgit!!! You have been a true avid reader all your life. What I liked to find is that we share 11 books. I love reading novels and I am a fan of Jane Austen“s. I am sure I will find interesting materials to read on your shelf ;-)
