I live in CA, and am a web designer. I have 2 kids, and am now married for almost 20 years.

I love books - all sorts of books, but don't have a lot of time to read. So I download many to my ipod, and usually have something in paper going at the same time. My hobbies include glass blowing, boating and cooking. I'm a total restaurant and...more »

Thanks also for the "warning" on Sail - that hasn't been released (in paperback at least) here yet, so I've yet to read it, but I will approach with caution!

Interestingly, I did enjoy Step On a Crack, which came out here just before The Quickie. It seems there are more misses than hits nowadays!

Thanks for the notes and request.

Definitely agree about Patterson and his co-authors. I liked Honeymoon too!

The Unquiet was a bit up and down for me, you can see my brief review on my shelf.

Hi Maureen! I just wanted to see if you ever read/ordered my book? It's getting really good reviews on Amazon, so I'm excited! (A couple are even posted on Shelfari I think.) Here's the link in case you want to check it out again--

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/098004250X

Thanks! And btw a wqomen's book club in Oakland has chosen my book for its next read, and the meeting is on Tuesday, July 15. Let me know if you want me to send you the Evite the organizer sent me-- there are like 100 people on there, so it looks like a pretty open club. Maybe a good chance for you to meet some neighbor book lovers!

    Bye!

    Hello birdsallhead!
Please accept my gesture of friendship. =)

I have spent some time reviewing your bookshelf and I am sending you this message because you seem to have very similar taste to mine and I believe this may seriously interest you. I hope it does.

2060: THE NEWTON PROPHECIES is a lightening-fast thriller, following Harvard Divinity professor and bestselling author, Michael DiBianco across three countries in a life-and-death struggle to thwart a plot to destroy Christianity, only to discover a secret about his past that will ultimately spawn the apocalypse.

Would you be interested in joining a group reading/review of the above mentioned novel?

So far we have over 10 people excited to start this event, but I know we can get a lot more and there is still time to join. This should prove to be really fun.
    J. Kaye, the administrator of the Suspense & Thriller group has just asked me if I would lead the event. She tells me it will be the first time an author has ever lead their own advance reading group. She thinks it will prove to be really interesting. I agree. This could be very interesting indeed!

Every book that is ordered for this event will be signed by the author and I am supplying these copies to members of this group at 50% off MSRP. I hope you will come join us. We'd love to have you! =)

To learn more and to join please visit the Suspense & Thriller group: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/11778/about

    Thank you!

Lafayette? We are practically neighbors (I'm in SF). Anyhow, I just signed up for Shelfari to try to get the word out about my novel, and since you're in the "chick lit" group I thought I'd drop you a note.
My book, “Perfect on Paper,” is about a single woman in San Francisco whose life is hardly perfect. I thought you might want to check it out. I have to start somewhere to get word-of-mouth going outside of my own friends, right? :)
If you decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it- and if you enjoy it, please spread the word b/c grassroots marketing is all I have to get this thing off the ground!
Thanks Birdsallhead! BTW my book is on my shelf if you want to take a peek. And just a random question, but did you get married at at 10 b/c you don't look old enough to have been married 20 years.
    Bye!

I read your review for the David Sedaris' book Naked and agreed with what you had to say completly. Reading any of his books in public is gaurenteed to get me some funny looks because I'm laughing so hard. I wouldn't really compare Amy's work to his just because they each do their own thing...so it's apples and oranges. I would suggest you read the book WigsField- The Can Do Town That Just MIght NOt...or something like that ( It's on my fav list)which she co-wrote. I was laughing hard enough to draw a little attention reading that one as well.

Dear Birdsallhead: If ytou like reading an adventure that takes you far far away, please look out for my new novel, HUNTING THE KING, coming in April.

HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O’Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: “Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can’t come too soon.”

To get a good sense of how powerful the book is, check out the heartpounding booktrailer on YouTube or on my web site at www.peterclenott.com. It is like watching a preview for an exciting movie. The novel is equally exciting and controversial.

While it isn’t out until April, you can find it on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Kunati Books. I hope you’ll take a look. And let me know what you think. Your response tells me if I am reaching the right readers. Thanks. Peter.
