Oh did you see where the author did an AMA? The first book is really good; it's also very complex, which is why I'm rereading it before continuing with the series.

I was buying the episodes from Amazon and watched them as I read the book, and I really liked them both. I'm currently halfway through A Clash of Kings. Did you read all 5 published books in the series?

I have not heard of it, but I'm looking at the site now. Are you reading the newest book by that author than you mentioned before? Is it good? :)

Sorry for the extremely late response. Things have been good here. I finally read A Game of Thrones. It was pretty good. :) How have you been?

I've hit a slump in reading enthusiasm. It'll probably pick back up when next semester begins. Not much new has been going on here. Have you gotten situated in your new home? :)

When I first started reading them, I had a basic grasp of Warcraft lore. I'm reading them in publication order yet now I think I would have enjoyed some of them more if I had read them in chronological order. Going by that recommendation, I'd start with Rise of the Horde. On the other hand, if you want to be more contemporary with Cataclysm, then I would read The Shattering since it deals with events leading right up to the expansion. Or, if you want to be even more contemporary, you can read Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects or Wolfheart which take place 'currently' in the timeline. Thrall: TotA is about Thrall and the Earthen Ring. Wolfheart is about King Wrynn and Gilneas. I have not read the last three recommendations so I can't comment on quality or whether or not they'd be more enjoyable if you knew more of the history. I hope this helped :D

From what I hear, things pick up very well after that. The final book in that series is coming out in 2012 I think.

From what I've heard, the tenth Wheel of Time book is the slowest. Its Amazon review score is really low.

I think that's what happens in a lot of epic fantasy series. The author gets too ambitious and then realizes they have to slow down and develop all the storylines they've started. Haha you can do it!
