I'm nineteen and full of bad habits. But, I read, so that's why I'm here. I attend Ohio State University, and I'm an anthropology major.

I'm done with one of the history books. I'm reading "History's Greatest Lies" now. It's ok, kinda preachy. The author loves Nero and hates Jesse James. Weird.

Amen to that. I need to get out my copy of the animated version out and plow through it. I am reading three history books right now, but what I am really anticipating the release of the new Dan Brown.

It's the equivalent to Chekhov's gun -- she showed the house unity thing through most of the early books, and totally didn't follow through on it.

As far as the names go, though, I don't find the Severus thing too weird, since presumably Harry's had around 8 years to get used to the idea that Snape was a hero, regardless of how much they didn't like each other (and it does sort of match the Albus thing, since Albus wasn't nearly as beneficent as he originally came off as being). What kind of gets me is that all of the kids' names are clearly Harry's doing, and I have to wonder where Ginny's influence comes in -- only it seems she probably doesn't have any influence.

Have to say, though, I can't blame the kid for going by 'Al'.

Hah, yeah, the Christ symbolism was definitely over the top, and the less said about that Epilogue, the better. Ugh. It felt so very tacked-on, and I still haven't gotten over how after all that happened, they go back to the divisions between houses.

*smiles* Hey, thanks for the compliment on my DH notes -- I got a little wound up when I was writing it, so I'm glad at least one other person enjoyed it.

It's at the library. That's where I got it. Although, it IS now out in paperback of you are feeling froggy and want to make a purchase. Buuuuut, I am thinking definate limited re-readability, so maybe the library is your best bet.

Bill, check out Saturday by Ian McEwan. I give it a 7 if you aren't into politics and an 8 if you are. Hmm...those scores might be a little high, but it's worth a read.

I am home and in fine spirits. I am currently trying to find time to slog through three nonfiction books that I have picked up and put down over the last few months.

Bill, the trip is going well. The art museum (slam.org) is so scene. I had my picture taken with a Monet, so I can cross that off my life's to do list.

I read (cover to cover) three magazines a week. It's a crock that I can't count that reading on here.
