I'm a graduate student at UAlbany majoring in Archives and Records Management. I *love* reading! I will read anything... and I mean that. Lately I've been mostly into history and sci/fi fantasy but I'm not limited by genre, if the book's good I'm all over it!

Awesome! I hope you enjoy the profession - if you get into electronic records and associated applications, it's a whole new world! And I'm about 4 seconds away from completing my MPA. Then I'll have more paper to throw darts at! ;-)

Hi! My BA is in history - classical/european. Since then I've been turned-on to American Revolutionary/Colonial history. And I've worked in records/information management for about 10 years!! And you?

You should see it in person. It is so impressive and jaw-dropping beautiful.

There are some churches that I enjoy visiting when I'm in their neighborhood, not only for the solace the atmosphere provides, but also for a beauty you don't see anymore today.

Let's see if I can keep this concise instead of being overly garrulous. When I was a little kid, my Mom was the one to take me to Sunday mass. I often asked Dad when he went to church, and he would always reply that he had gone earlier. Well, one Saturday night, I tied the laces of both his shoes together, so I could tell if he really did go to early mass. Just before I left for mass with Mom, I checked the shoes - ohmigod!! They were still in knots and that meant that Dad hadn't been going to Sunday mass and that he was going to hell. When I got much older, I recalled how I felt that Sunday morning and that was sort of the beginning of the end of my being 'religious.' Nonetheless, I do remain very spiritual; and I do have a strong strong belief in God.

I just started reading it - I find it interesting to read the truth behind the myth. I found the book initially interesting because it reminded me of how religion was taught to me in both Catholic elementary and high school. That was in the 50's and early 60's. There was so much that you were required to believe without questioning...not to mention how much of history was omitted.

Read your comment about 'The DaVinci Code.' You're right, the movie did suck, and I was quite disappointed with it. As far as you're noting that "It isn't real and people who believe it is are silly and under-educated," you might find the following an interesting read:

'Secrets of the Code: The Unauthorized Guide To The Mysteries Behind The DaVinci Code.'

The book explores the various topics raised and is made up of various views of experts: archaeologists, theologians, art historians, philosophers and scientists.

Hi Elizabeth! I read your post in regard to the Davinci Code and I couldn't agree more! Then I saw your profile and your studies - we share an education and (possible) profession! Way to go!! :-)
