sad sad sad, you didn't remember who I was. I was on here last week. Any good books you recommend?
alright so, I had so many books I wanted to read next and couldn't choose--so it took me 2 weeks to decide--I could've read a book in that time!!!!!!
Hi B, I'm back!
That is great and a wonderful goal for you book club. I really enjoyed it and I think it will be a hit.I do understand the time and energy babies take. You need to invest so much because it is so important and it doesn't always leave much for reading. It is worth it. I can tell you that without a doubt. :)He'll end up having your love of books and that will help him go far in life!Cherers khabira
Hi BilbahI hope you are doing fine. I just finished Lemon Swamp. It is a memoir and it is really good. So I thought you might also enjoy it. I love stories about strong women and this is one of them. I hope you are having a good summer. How old is your little one now? My grandchildren are 14 to 1 now. Time just goes so fast and I still don't have enough time to read, work, watch my flowers grow, watch the stars, listen to the bees. The unimportant things always get in the way.Take careKhabira
Love your name. Thanks for the add.Desiree Day
OK I'm on chapter 27 (still WWE) I can't wait until the end! I wish I could read as fast as you. I am trying to make at least one chapter a day rule---but.... I like some of the books on your shelf, I'll add them to my list lolthanks for motivating me!!!
Since I have been doing some heavy duty reading lately, I have just started an Iris Johanson suspense novel.I finished Benazir Bhutto's Reconciliation. She finished writing it 4 days before her assassination and I really recommend it.She really explains the ins and outs of the Middle East.
Hi Well I have been reading some heavy duty books. I do recommend Benazir Bhutto's Reconciliation. She finished it just4 days before her assassination. It is really good and helps put a lot of what is happening in the Middle East into perspective.Last night I started an Iris Johanson suspense novel. I needed some fluff.
Hi BibahI just stopped by to see what you are reading lately. Did you ever get to see Wicked? You have to read Son of a Witch. I have it, haven't read it yet. My sister did and loved it. Take care Khabira
So kind of you
Thank you for the great suggestion for The Next Chapter group. I added three books that we can read and discuss for June. Also, if any of your Shelfari friends would like to join - come on in!!!! It is The Next Chapter group, and we would love to have them! Thanks again for a great idea.
Dear friendI'm so after the book "red tent". unfortunately I couldn't find it in my country(Iran). so if you, by any chance, have the PDF format of this book, I would be thankful beyond the words, if you let me have it.hppkmy@gmail.comBest
Me too! I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
ooohhh I hope Pleasure is good. I assume from the title that it is well a book to read when our husbands are home!!! I am on Chapter 3 "bad girls" in Waking and since Marcus is working constently I stopped until he has some free time!!! lolHold Tight does look really good. Look you still have my back after all this time!!! Love you!!!!
Hey Bibah- Will you read Hold Tight by Harlan Coben and tell me if it is good!
Thanks for accepting my friendship.
Awwww, thanks for accepting my friendship request! Tell me something; are you actively involved in a book club? I've noticed that you've mentioned being in a book club and I'm currently looking for one to join. If you are in one, do you all have any openings for new members? I'm local; I live a few min. away from Sil.Spr., Md. Let me know! :)
Oh my gosh! A retreat? How fantastic! Our group has been toying with doing a retreat for about a year now--I'm planning on making it more than just a hope though! LOL I need to pop over to the website you gave me--I would love to see what your group has read.I don't know what form of artists are in your group, but if you're looking for ideas for creation--maybe you could have people make something that represents them as women now--or represents the path they took towards womanhood, perhaps something that shows their path of learning, maturity or development, or maybe a representation of a pivotal event in their lives as women. Your project sounds very interesting--I hope when you decide what it will be that you will be comfortable enough to share what you chose. Anyway--enough of my taking up your time--have a great day, I am really enjoying chatting back and forth with you! : ) HPG
Thanks for the note on The Women of Brewster Place--I'm going to definitely put on my list for my next pick!I saw your note for The Red Tent--we had some great discussions about this on the Late Night Bookies discussion group, and I think on the Women of Lore group as well.In my book club here at home, we talked a lot about the role of women during that time period--the concept of power when you are in a submissive situation, the definition of power, as well as the culture of women. We talked about our personal beliefs, which are quite varied, despite the fact that several of us belong to the same religion. I found the book fascinating, engaging and controversial--but in a good and thought provoking way.I hope that helps a little bit!Happy night! HPG
