That book talks about good habits and the attitude teens have that lead to big sucesses.
    These are the seven things:

Expect to have self-esteem without becoming competent
Let your feelings run the show
Silently scream instead of making yourself known
    Don't learn about power
    Hide the really serious stuff
Avoid the struggle to find yourself
    Live in the extremes

I enjoyed this book. It helped!

Hi Mrs. Foellmer! Thanks for lending me the book. It was so sentimental for me! At the very end, I started crying! I am trying to give it back to you, but I never see you(except at lunch sometimes...)! When would I be able to give it back to you? I came to your classroom during study hall, but I guess you were at lunch or something...same thing after school. You weren't there! I never have the chance, ever since I finished it(which was the day you gave it to me...), I am unable to talk and give it back!
    -See you soon,
    Yvonne

I totally agree that some short books are really strong! Oh, I'm still reading My Sister's Keeper, and I don't think I would be able to see the movie either! That'd be great, Mrs. Foellmer, if you could find me some! Thanks! Bye!

Hello! Thank you for finding interest in my Shelfari group. Yes, this is the first time I have used it in class. I am using it as part of my assessment with their Independent Reading requirements. They have to post Reader Response questions every other week of the quarter. Most of the students seem very excited about this! They think it's like Facebook for readers :-) I came across this site over the summer, and I knew immediately I wanted to implement it somehow. The teachers in my district have to create Professional Development Plans each year and mine was to incorporate technology into Independent Reading. So far, things are going great.

As far as your request of watching my group goes, I have to ask you a favor. I promised my students this group would remain private. I have it open to all right now because it is faster for me to set up their accounts for them that way. Once they are all joined, I plan on making the group private again. Since this was stated in my letter I sent home to parents, I feel I have to hold true to my promise. Please feel free, however, to contact me in the future (no matter how many times), and I can open it up briefly for you to take a look at! Glad to help out a fellow educator but have to respect the privacy I promised my students. :-)

Let me know what you think! Thanks so much!
