    “A beautifully written story that is so poignant and sad. The plight of women as a marginalized part of society is shown so clearly here in all of its cruelty. The plight of the people of Afghanistan is truly horrific. The courage, determination, and will to survive and improve their homeland is also shown in the book. Not a light read, but very enlightening to those who have never lived through war at home.”
