  • Schmusekatze auf Beutefang

    Schmusekatze auf Beutefang

    by Louise Bagshawe
    • Rated 3 stars

a typical modern cinderella - lovestory. (ugly girl turns into beautiful & confident girl)

it's a nice timepass, when u r looking for something "light" to read.
(guess once in a while you need to read such books to relax a bit and let ur mind relax ;)

although it started very well and promising, the story goes to nowhere and ends quite abrupt and in nowhere's land.
    Some parts were nice.
But i have to say that i really hated some parts of the book. Dont read it.
It is a waste of time!

i loved this book, especially the tomboy character "Scout".
I would give this book 6 stars if here provided. Such a wonderful story with a lot of lessons for life. The best thing is that the story is written for grown-ups but from the view of a little girl. lovable !

This will be one of my favourite books for life for sure !

it's story within a story, so there are 2 parallel theards and each of them are equally exciting. it's well written, i read the book within days, coz i couldnt wait to know what would happen next.
The only minus of this book is that the end seems to be written in rush. i really didnt like the abrupt end with surprise factor. the other thing is that there is no real end to 2nd story in the book. otherwise i would have given 4 stars.

  • Anna Karenina
    • Rated 2 stars

It's a very long novel, actually it cloud be counted as 3 or 4 books ;)
well i really liked 1st & 2nd part. but the 3rd & 4th part were so slow and boring.
from the 5th part on it gets better and better til the end.

honestly i didnt like main character Anna Karenina, so maybe thats why i ended up not liking the book, altough the first 200pages (1st part) was really nice to read.
still i liked the writing style, you learn a lot of the russian culture.

    a great book ! i love it !
i learnt so much through this book about Burma, India & Malayasia and history.
Amitav Ghosh is an amazing writter, the research work, he must have done to write this book is mind blowing.

The story is about 3 generations of a family & their friends. The charcaters are presented so lively, that I still believe that these persons really existed (even though i have read the book 1 year ago).

One of my favourites! A must read!

The english title says a lot more about this book: "fearfull symmetry"
Great story about history, the old holy city benares, culture and generations.
