I am a 40-something, blissfully married mom. I work from home as a publisher/editor and my brilliant husband is a software engineer. Between us, we have six children!

Of course, like practically everyone who ever got an English degree, someday I want to write fiction. In the meantime, I just read LOTS of it. ♥

    I read your review of Passion - I totally agree with it. Plodding is what I feel like I'm doing. I'd throw it aside if I had not put so much time into it already.

    Hello there...

    I haven't stopped by in a LONG time. I can't believe how many books we have in common. LIttle House books were my first love, as they were for you as well. Third grade I fell in love with Laura and reading; I haven't stopped. I envy your job... To be able to get paid for something you truly love to do is a wonderful way to live.

    My husband's grandfather (Donald N. Anderson) discovered the location of Laura's house in "Little House In The Big Woods". He worked for the University of Wisconsin. I didn't even find this out until after he died 2 years ago.... I have a million questions for him, sadly, they will go unanswered.

    I have over 400 books on my TBR shelf.... And YES, I own all of them!! Double stacked on shelves, piled in 3 different boxes and I still cannot resist the urge to buy more. I am also on paperbackswap.com which only feeds "the beast", but it's like Christmas in the mail at least once a week or more.

    TTFN,
    Erin

    Oh Betsy I love that time period too! The show really got me hooked, and now I'm a bit obsessed! I found the Richard Rex book to be a really smooth read--not dry at all! :)

    Hello... Just stopped by to see what you were up to. I've added quite a few books too. I did read a YA book that I LOVED.... EASY read, I finished in one day... EXCELLENT book though.... "FEVER 1793".... Highly recommend for an easy afternoon, found in the young adult section. I read a few of these YA books and save the best for my daughter. I read SPEAK also.... By the same author as FEVER, then I rented the movie.... Also, a GREAT read and movie!

    I saw the Other Boelyne Girl... LOVED IT!!!!!

    Hi Betsy,

    You have an interesting looking shelf. I am an older mom as well. I had my first a month before I turned 38 and he is now 3 1/2. Curious which of your child you applied "Raising a spirited child".

    Betsy;

    i have a lot of favorite Berg books. Talk Before Sleep, Range of Motion, Open House, What We Keep Never Change and the 3 'Katie' books, Joy School, Durable Goods and True to Form. The only other book I didn't care for was Until the Real Thing Comes Along.

    The Tea Rose and The Winter Rose are 2 of my recent faves. If you like them you might want to look up Barbara Taylor Bradford's A Woman of Substance, it's an oldie but a goodie.

    Oops...and yes, I have lived in the same area in northcentral IN my entire life. I even went to college in town! I have a feeling that the only way I'll ever live anywhere else is if one day one of my kids moves away and have reason to go there.

    We do have quite a few books in common and I see you have several of my favorite books of all time: The Wise Woman, Roots, and GWTW! It's nice to meet someone who enjoys historical fiction as much as I do.

    I used shelfari's import feature to put all the books I've read the last few years I had listed in a tab delimited file directly into their system. Took about 5 minutes! :D
