I've been an avid reader since my first Dick and Jane book in school. No how-to books for me, tho. I read strictly for enjoyment. Calgon can only take me to the nearest bath tub; but my books take me to other lands and times to meet characters and people that I would probably never even dream of meeting in real life. When I get involved in a book I become the characters in the book.
My imagination is so vivid that no movie can do justice to any book that I've already read. However, if I've seen a movie before I've read the book, I can't get the movie out of my head and I tend to enjoy the story less.
Favorite genre's for me are romance (duh! I'm a girl!). Romantic comedy is my all time favorite with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books being in the top spot on my keeper shelves. After that it is Jennifer Crusie, Charlotte Hughes, and Leann Banks plus a few more that don't immediately come to mind. After that, Romantic Suspense, Romantic Mystery, Erotic Romance (as long as the story is good and not just porn) and Paranormal Romance are some favorites. While I've read some Historicals and Westerns, I can't seem to develope a taste for them. Chic Lit and cozy mysteries, some animal stories and other suspense stories make up the balance of my favorites.
My To-Be-Read (TBR) stack is more like a mountain range. I call it my TBRMR. It started as a stack, then turned into a pile, then grew to a hill, then developed into a mountain. The mountain morphed into a volcano and, before I knew what happened, it erupted into a mountain range! Every once in a while, there is an earthquake and the mountains change shape ~ some get smaller while others grow to giganimous heights. This is just a few of my books in the mountain range...
