I'm a crime fiction writer, a former special education teacher, executive director of the Killer Nashville conference, and winner of the 2009 Magnolia Award for service to the Southeastern Chapter of Mystery Writers of America. A long-time dog lover and horse lover, I dabble in canine freestyle and clicker training and am certified in equine massage therapy (though I've never worked in the field and am, much as I love them, a bit timid around horses).
RACING THE DEVIL is the first book in my private detective series, which features Nashville private investigator Jared McKean. Jared has a son with Down syndrome, a best friend with AIDS, an ex-wife he can't seem to fall out of love with, and a weakness for women in jeopardy--until one frames him for murder.
The second book in the series, A CUP FULL OF MIDNIGHT, is due to be released at Killer Nashville in August 2012. If you want to know more, please check out my website: http://www.jadenterrell.com. You'll find links for writers, tips for writers, a bit about my books, links for readers, and--for those of you who like an occasional glimpse into another person's subconscious, a dream journal.
