I have a bookmark that states "Reading Sets You Free." I could not agree more. I read whenever and wherever I can. I love mysteries, so called "chick lit," urban fantasy, medical thrillers, some sci-fi, and books that make me laugh.

I have read and enjoyed all the books on my shelf--if I read a book and disliked it, I did not put... more »

Hi, Beth! Thanks for the friend request! You have great shelves, too! I can already see that I'm going to have to go through your shelves for books to add to my TBR list. I love it when I find someone (or they find me) who likes the kinds of books that I do, and they have so many books that I don't have, so that I get new ideas on what to read. :-) I am ALWAYS looking for new books and authors to read.

I liked your review of A Three Dog Life, I thought Year of Magical Thinking sucked. I can't wait to read it. I also can't wait to see you. So sorry I am sick.....

I just stopped by for a peak at what you added and I am just blown away by the fact that we have 203 books in common! You have 1236 on your shelves and I have 1270.

I want to recommend a neat little series to you. Quick reads with some wonderful magic and a great setting. Shanna Swendson is the author of the Katie Chandler series (4 books) and it starts with Enchanted, Inc. Light, chick lit, wizards, living gargoyles, merlin in today's world. Devil Wore Prada with a twist. Delightful.

Hey! The guy who wrote prep is actually a chick! I did read Prep and wanted to love it, but didn't. The writing was good, but the main character was completely unlikeable, I had zero sympathy for her. I didn't blame the rich snobby kids for not liking her! I would give The Man of My Dreams a chance. I just finished and loved Case Histories by Kate Atkinson. Now on to Breaking Dawn, finally!

I'll be very interested in what you have to say about "Don't Tell a Soul" by Rosenfeldt. I've read his earlier books with Andy Carpenter as the series character. I'm pretty sure this is not one of that series so I want to know if he still has that wonderful humor in this story too. :-)

I LOVED The Girls! Don't be freaked, just be happy it's not you fused to someone else's body! That's awesome you are getting another crack at Laurie! I am jealous, but not too much, because I will be on a plane to the Bahamas that day!

I'm thinking: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Prince of Tides (I sent her a copy), She's Come Undone (she has my copy!), and The Glass Castle. Do you think she would hate The Time Traveler's Wife?? I think she may. What are you thinking??

    Hi Beth,
I was just browsing your shelf and you have some great books. I am a great Nora Roberts Fan too. And I had the same Mother Goose book as a kid. I wish I still had it.

Thanks for the HOT tip on the new Laurie book! It looks fab. You have to love anything involving laser hair removal. I still have to catch up on her last few-including the prized autographed copy you got me. Also, I would like to appreciate you for changing your previous fugly avatar to this lovely one! And yes, I have a few in mind for the cheerleader, we'll discuss...
