Yes, a love story, but also a heart warming account of one woman being needed by a child and the love between families and it is so wonderful and the characters are witty and I can not wait for this author to write another novel!

This is an incredible true story--a man given 3-6 months to live wants to tell others what lessons about life he finds most important. It is not focussed on the sadness of his reality--it is incredibly uplifting, and he has a great sense of humor, self understanding, and quirky elements I love (his family's love of Disney World, winning stuffed animals, and he went to Brown). He's a virtual reality-computer science professor...you can find his lecture on line at www.thelastlecture.com. I just finished the book and plan to listen to it tonight. I agree with so many of his ideas. A quick read!

Another fun mental floss book--this one is broken down by topic: art history, philosophy, history, music, pop culture, biology, economics, etc....described as "a deliciously irreverent guide to feeling smart again." The writers have a great sense of humor.

This is way too long for the ending you get. I enjoyed how the story was woven between three generations searching for their connection to Dracula--yes, Dracula, in an attempt to free the world from his evil...I also really loved the descriptions of Hungary, Bulgaria, and Turkey--art history! Nice love stories interspersed. Good book, but could have edited out 200-300 pages.

We read this for our book club and I thought it was interesting to hear about India and Indonesia. I think she's a little crazy and remarkably self-absorbed, though, so I wasn't rooting for her happiness as much as I wanted to. If she had kids she'd probably stop whining and do something. Or at least enjoy the fact that she can take a year to travel. I'd love to do that!

Although this is an incredible story about Lance's victory over cancer and everything his wife went through to have children during his treatment, he is SO egocentric (I hate the way he uses women...), so it's hard for me to really like him...I recommend the book, though; very interesting!!

Yes, I know...it's for pre-teens or something. SO cute. My friend who teaches fifth graders told me to read it. The movie is sweet, too.

This is the only Nicholas Sparks book I've read--and I enjoyed it (guilty!). The movie was great, too.

I never was able to meet Carole Maso while at Brown, but her writing style in this book inspired me. If only the art/art history department hadn't won me over!

I'm probably going to literary hell for this, but I actually liked the movie better than the book...Diane Lane is adorable in it!
