A pretty clear book on the techniques - no replacement for an actual class and instructor. No book could really be detailed enough to allow someone to learn without a real class, the drawings just can't be that good.

Well - again with the nipple chops - that's a little odd. Author has some issues methinks. Other than that, like all series books there's a lot of repeat information for people that might have picked up book three without having read book 1&2 so that is a bit annoying. Still a good read in comparison to the rest of fantasy today.

Better than 1 and 2 - less of teh romance crap and more action. Some interesting turns on plot and some inventive solutions - it is getting a bit predictive that the heros always win somehow...need a bit more mixing it up pn that.

The sotry is holding up and this book brings more details on the back story. My only complaint is the rather teen-age, 18 year old, fascination with sex and crap. I'm no prud but come on...get over it and write a compelling story. Leave the romance novel crap to the books you get in the grocery store.

Pretty good story - not very much back story compared to some others, but it is entertaining. I'll read the others in the series.

An excellent combination of historical fact and invented action. Not sure why all the explicit sex or if there is some basis in fact for all of that, buta good read none the less.

An interesting story, although sometimes I think the author is trying too hard to build out the background. nevertheless it was an engaging read with a decisive finish to the first book.

A great translation of classic gaelic tales of Ireland. Some of the tales are a bit slow and repetitive. There's a lot of white birds flying around in Ireland. One thing that would really help with the book is a map. There's a lot of riding around here tan there, but it is hard to relate this to where in Ireland is all this taking place.

The background story and world created by the author have potential, but to me the plot is a bit weak.I'm about 3/4 thru the book and wondering what the point of all this wandering around on "ships" between worlds is for. Elric wanted to visit the "young kingdoms", but has spent most of the book in dreams and other realities doing tasks that have no apparent connection or explanation. Still the writing is reasonably engaging although it can get a bit long winded for me.

I grew up in Old Saybrook Connecticut. I never knew all of this about wars and fighting in new England. Fascinating! We always new there was some fighting, but not the kind of widespread brutality on both sides.
