I'm a police dispatcher and author of a novel called "Pit-Stop," which just won the 2009 Eppie Award for Best Horror! The next book is "The Hollows," and it's due out Nov. 20. But I love talking all kinds of books with all kinds of readers. Catch me here or find me on myspace, facebook, or twitter!

Okay, it's ordered and I am excited. Should be here in a couple of days. I told my sister it is so exciting to meet a published author on here. We have a family friend that had a book published a couple of years ago. I can't remember the name of the top of my head (my sister-in-law has my copy right now), but anyway it was about the journey with her mom who was suffering from alzheimers (sp). So pleased to meet you! ^_^ Have a great weekend and try not to float away....still pouring here....maybe a napping kind of day....sure wish I had your book to read right now!

Ben, I have looked at Amazon for your book, and it's there but I think I can only get it in paperbook. Is there a place where I can order a hardback one? Just curious....if not, I will order the pb one. Hope you're having a great week.

Sounds great, will it be mass market or do we need to look for it online?

it's a story about a struggling mother who moved to a new house and caught in the web of mysteries (the house keeps for years) and death... haist, just another story of haunted house but not the typical type. i hope we could have some time to talk through the net. i mean, let's have a chat... hehe... thanks for the time!

So I finished Drood, and I wrote a short review if you wanted to read it. Anyway, I really enjoyed most of the end of the book. It took me a while to get through, but I'm glad I stuck with it and finished. I'm looking forward to reading more of his work to see if it's anything like Drood.

Congrats on the book and the awesome award! What a boost on the ol' resume! I'm putting your book on my tbr pile and plodding my way thru "The Alienist" (love it so far!). I see that you're reading "The Monsters of Templeton." How is it and would you recommend it?

Well, it takes a while to get through, but the story is interesting. I've got a couple hundred pages left, but I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for the recommendations!

    Hey, Ben
Thanks for the friend request! I see you have a book, I'll have to put that on my shelf. Also, I'm pretty new with Dan Simmons, I'm working through Drood right now. That is quite an undertaking! Let me know what book of his I should read next. Also, I see you've got a lot of King on your shelf. I love King! I haven't added him to my shelf because I'm waiting until I reread them and can write a fresh review :)

    Ben,
Just finished reading PIT STOP ,really enjoyed the book,I found the backround stories for each character very interesting, some like the Accountant were more disturbing then others.
Great story line and even better characters, Ramsey was creepy as hell, and Officer Alders was easy to relate too.
    Great job !

Thankee sai for the comment. You're absolutely right when you say the best part of the movie was its quietness. Such a refreshing change from the obvious 'Boo!' scares of most mainstream horror flicks. Am planning my next review for Panzram - A Journal of Murder. I'm a true crime buff as well, and I find the criminal mind a fascinating - if scary - place to visit on and off.

Howdy. Congrats on the new book and the Eppie! I better get around to buying and reading Pit-Stop soon :) And yup, all caught up in Lost - in more ways than one. Time travelling and Egyptian gods and Island god-wars. Wowzie. It just all gets curiouser and curiouser, doesn't it? Which brings me to a movie I cannot wait for, btw - Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Oh, and if you'll allow me a little shameless self promotion of my own? ;) I'm a book and movie reviewer on this great site for culture buffs. Here's my author pg with links to all of them. http://culturazzi.org/review/author/lenny Browse around anyway.
