Oops...it has been two months and I have only got around to replying just now.....well, did your party win with your vote? mine lost in Noida! The son is still trying out journalism. his name is Arjun (pereira obviously). Have you finally managed to go through Inheritance of Loss. Hated the book. Too dismal. These days i am on Sue Grafton. She has written a complete...A to U series so far and plans to go till Z. The central character is a woman detective. Read A is for Alibi, B is for Burglar.....Read G, and H, too, and am now on I....interesting. Like a usual unputdownable murder thriller. How's your Mom. Bring her along to Noida one day and have a meal with us....let one of us know. You know who among us is on the net forever!Take care......reena
Hi Abhiroop,Long time, no word from you.Oswald
Unlike Mumbai there's nothing genuine in Delhi, including people and food. The Mumbai usal pav, misal, kheema pav, pav bhaji, and the sweet dish sreekhand is so delicious that it drives me crazy with nostalgia. Delhi food is so aloo-based and oily ... like its consumers. I'm a simple, hapless Mumbaikar trapped in this slippery, loud, pretentious city.
Hi Abhiroop .....i liked the old name though! Garam Beni.....i logged in after months and saw your note posted just a few hours ago. Congratulations from me too...on your job and on the way your shelf has grown. You are doing a whole lot of reading. Lucky young man!The son didn't like Bombay, so Delhi it is for now. Trying his hand at journalism. Let's hope he likes it. Say Hi to your Mum. Did she read My Family and Other Animals finally? I see that on your shelf. A friend just introduced me to Sue Grafton, so reading her A is for Alibi right now. Pretty neat!Take care....what are you reading? Are you active on the Delhi Book Lover's page?reena
Hi Abhiroop,Congratulations on many fronts: for updating your photo, your bookshelf and list of friends.Oswald
Hi Abhiroop,Your shelf is blank or invisible.Oswald
Happy Durga Puja....though belated. Happy Diwali in advance! Good to see you back on Shelfari. I come only rarely on Shelfari now. How's your Mom? Our son has gone off to Bombay to work, but hates it. A true Dilliwallah at heart, it seems. Strange. I worked in Times of India in Bombay for six years at the start of my career and loved every minute of it. I always found it vibrant and bindaas. How are the studies or is it full-time work now? Take care. Reena
Dear Abhiroop,Wish you Happy Durga Pujo too!!!
