    "have to agree that the book is great. cannot tell what emotional impact it has one a male reader, but it did nave an emotional impact on me.
    i read it two years ago and am still thinking about it. one's got to have some courage to read more books by coetzee after this one."
    courage? why? has coetzee not justified everything that happened in the story? the book is valid by all means. afterall u don't get a booker for a crap!
