Welcome to Wild Iris! Do jump in. Our Poetry Potpourri Challenge is fun and you can win free poetry. How can you pass a collection up? If you look at our group shelf, you can feel pretty good that the book prize will be of equal quality. Looking forward to reading your commentary. Peace. ~z

    Hi Jeanette,
I believe I have the longest college careers going, but I'm not telling how long. LOL
Where are you published? Is it possible to get a copy? When you have an opportunity, please come by Poetry and you might consider joining us at Shades of Love. We'd love for you to join in discussions. At Poetry, I post a daily read by published poets.
    Hope you're well. Peace. ~z

    Hi belljargirl,

Have you read The Hours or seen the movie?

Moving on, I have posted several titles to Poetry group shelf. I hope you'll check out the additions and be inspired to join in a discussion there.

    Peace,

I tried to leave this on the mommy lit group site, but it seemed to be having some technical difficulties....so, I'll leave it with you!

I don't know of any that actually are encouraging but some that make you feel as if you're not alone. That always helps me. "The Big Rumpus" by Ayun Halliday is good if you are not put off by her honesty. "Waiting for Birdy" by Catherine Newman is great for a laugh. I found myself laughing out loud. I agree that it is hard to stay at home. That's why I love mommy lit. It makes me realize that millions of women have been through it before and are going through it now. Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only one who is in this boat.

You know, I am soo bad...I remember reading The Bell Jar, and I remember a few details...but I can't recall all of it....EEEK !!! :(:( ha !! I read it mostly because my friend was completely into Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton at the time, and she had just read it...Do you read her poetry? I try to imagine what it would be like, being a woman in those times, and not fitting in to what society expected of you...eek !! Anyway, I am going to check out your shelf ! What are you currently reading? Talk to you soon !!!

Hey. I just joined shelfari after hearing about it from a friend. We have some of the same books on our shelves, especially the fantasy and young adult fantasy, very cool. We also both live in San Antonio, which is awesome...I'm in the middle of the second Bartimaeus book. Would you want to get together sometime over coffee (or dinner if you'd like) and talk books/life in general?

I saw that you have a book The Dark Hills Divide. What did you think of the book ? I am also a fan of young adult fiction. I am a preschool teacher so I enjoy reading books for younger children as well.
