I love to get swept away in a book and I'm addicted to my Kindle. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Christopher Moore, Jasper Fforde, and JK Rowling. But I have read and enjoyed many, many books by many, many other great authors.

    Blood Bound

I don't believe Rachel Vincent knows how to write a bad book. This knew series is very different from anything else I've read by her. It is best described as gritty and dark. The characters are full of pain but they aren't pitiful and they keep fighting even when the case looks hopeless.

Liv Warren is a tracker with the ability to track people using their blood. She is a freelancer based in the only part of the city that is free. She has been spending the last six years trying to stay away from, and get over, Cam Caballero. He has a unique gift of his own and is determined to get Liv back. Through, supposed, random circumstances the two are brought together by a mutual friend in search for the woman's daughter.
I really loved all of the characters I met in this book. As is always the case, Vincent has created an intricate world with fascinating rules and complex plots. Every twist and turn is quite unexpected and leads to revelations for each of the characters involved. I liked having characters that I clearly like as well as characters that are a little more ambiguous.
I think this story is going to flesh out even more in the two succeeding installments. I have no idea where it is heading and that makes me exceedingly happy.

I am not a hard core fan of everything Titanic however I do find this subject matter to be fascinating. Thus a reason I wanted to check this book out. I liked the concept that Mr. Brewster brought with this book by focusing on one type of class of passengers. However I think that I might have preferred to read about the third class passengers more. Only because I think that there lies more history in their story and I would have felt the more human aspect then I got from reading about the first class passengers. After a while I did grow bored of the first class passengers and their stories.

What I did like about this book was learning about the maiden voyage of the Titanic. Mr. Brewster did a good job of describing the ship from the large state rooms, the ship captain’s daily walks to check each deck and the engine room to the fact that the crew was pretty much sailing blind without any binoculars so the look outs could not see that far ahead of them for any signs of danger.
