A nice, easy to read romance. You know what is going to happen, but it's still a good adventure and romance. Man meets lady, they heal each other's hurts and lonliness...kill the bad guy.
The intimacy isn't too bad in this book. I found I was skipping over 4 and 5 pages at a time in her book, Under A Wild Sky. I flipped past less pages of close encounters in this book, more story and less fondleing...lol.. Though I did like the story line of Under a Wild Sky..romance and some fantasy thrown in...Great! ...too bad so much of that great story line involves flipping past pages of every where their fingers touched so I could get on with the story and what was going to happen.

I liked the characters and the writing style...up until the end when it's full of violence and rapes and swearing...that was a huge turn off and surprised me..then it ends with the fact that she'll travel back home. I'm sure the bad men will follow them and it was said they were the best trackers...though they may be scared too since they are so superstitious.
It took me months to get through this book. I picked it up now and then and read bits at a time, it didn't hold me to it.

I enjoyed the beginning of this book, the middle part I skimmed through as it seemed to drag and I wasn't interested...then got to where Tuala leaves home and it picked up again. I didn't enjoy it as much as the Sevenwaters Trilogy, but I'll pick up the next book in this series, if our library has it and give it a try as I do like Juliet Marilllier

magic and a fairy, the good and the evil and some which are of both. I enjoyed it. The imagination used in it is wonderful, the writing is wonderful.
The ending is something you have to think about and peice together.
I"ll give more of McKillip's books a try along with Mercedes Lackey, but for right now I have a book here by Juliet Marillier that I'm going to read.

I liked the story, the magic and the characters, but there is a lot of repetition in this book that sent me skimming over and skipping pages here and there.
I'm going to try some more of Mercedes Lackey's books though.

I liked the whole story line of finding the lost scrolls/library. I liked the characters...just had to skim read some of it as I found it went on and on.

I'm not giving this book one star because it's a bad book it's just not my style. It just seemed to go on and on. I really liked the characters. I loved the main lady Barbara with all her kind ways and trying to survive in a male world of olden days... It's just not my type of read so I had to do a lot of skim reading and page turning...

I enjoyed it enough to go out and find some books by the same author.
I did very little skim reading. The love scenes are quite long and drawn out, but that's the case with a lot of romance.

This book as to much unexplained French in it. If you don't speak french and can't read it, it's annoying.
I didn't like all the deaths in it, or the family keepiing secrets from Leonie. If they would have kept cautious about the bad guy, instead of always assuming he was gone they could have had a better life or taken different steps to being safe.
I did get easily invovled with the two main characters, from the past and the present. There are parts I enjoyed but the ending was disappointing with Leonie and Anatole's son being left without Leonie.

This book was just ok. It didn't keep me reading, but I did want to finish it. I've heard from other readers that Shannon Drake's books are good but they agreed that this one was flat
