I've been a voracious reader all my life. My mother tells me that when I was three I took our enormous collection of Little Golden Books back to my room and pretty much stayed there for a week. When I came out, according to lore, I could read. The summer before sixth grade, trapped in a day camp I despised, I walked off with a dog-eared copy of "Little Women" every day and read by the creek-- a small but real comfort, to be apart from the noise and (shudder) endless group sports.

By eleventh grade I was reading things like "Lolita" and "The Unbearable Lightness of Being," which, in retrospect, were pretty heavy selections for that age-- maybe I should have stuck to the lighter stuff, but it payed off when, at age 29, I sold my first novel. Two and a half years later, I'm happily doing signings for my newly released book, "In Stereo Where Available"-- a chick lit book, funny and sweet but not too fluffy-- and raising my four children. And I'm still reading like there's no tomorrow, always in search of those books that will change my life-- because many have.

I look forward to meeting other readers (perhaps my own?), writers, and mothers.... I love adding new friends! And let me be clear: yes, I'm an author, but I'm a reader first and foremost, and I'm here to share thoughts on books and get suggestions. If I'm requesting your friendship, it's because we share similar taste in reading material (as evidenced by our "books in common"), not because I'm trying to sell you anything.
