I am a full time student studying adult nursing.
I'm really quite addicted to books - reading them and owning them. I can quite happily spend hours in a book store just browsing, and love to talk to anyone who will engage in a conversation about books and literature.
My other hobbies include cooking, gardening, cycling and... more »

The chipmunks were very cool indeed. You can learn a lot just by watching them. I used to feed them raw peanuts scattered all over my balcony including on the railing. They would get into really vicious fights for the nuts and end up knocking several nuts off the balcony with their bushy tails !!! In their eagerness to have it all for themselves, they harmed the very thing they fought for to begin with. Kinda like us humans, don't you think ? What's worse is that they never learned from their mistakes, and fought fervently every time they saw a generous scattering of peanuts instead of sharing ... that's like us humans too, eh ?

My studies are over. I'm an engineer by profession now. Time isn't always a rare commodity for me ... although right now it is.

I've never "had" a cat per se, but as a kid I used to pamper the strays in my neighborhood a lot. Same with dogs. Several pregnant "she"-dogs ( ... Shelfari asked me not to say 'b*tches' !!! ... ) have had their litters in our backyard, and I took great joy in playing with the little pups. It was heartbreaking to see so many of them die ... the infant mortality rate is very high for stray dogs.

What kind of stuff do you write ? Any chance of featuring on shelfari as an author anytime soon ?

Cheers to your return to uninterupted reading. I pray that you finish your book! But after that, tell me, what book is next?

I don't have any pets of my own. When I was in college, I used to feed chipmunks on my room's balcony ... that's the closest I've come to having any pets in recent times. Right now, getting a pet is out of question for me ... I barely get enough time to take care of myself, let alone a pet !

I am surprised to know that your gps don't mind having cats around ! If your cats are sheepish around guinea pigs, and terrified of bunnies ... let me see if I can say this without making you feel bad ... they are the wussiest cats in the universe, Rebecca !!! You need to do something about that !!! ( ... potentially offensive pun - they're wussy pussies - please don't hate me for saying that :| ... )

You're certainly the most glamourous member of the nursing profession I've ever come across! Has the NHS had a make-over?

Ms. Murdoch and I did not hit it off in our previous encounters, but you're right to encourage me.

    Becca:

If that blew your mind....then consider this, and "BLOW" it all the way! I personally own over 350,000 books. Yep, you heard me, "I PERSONALLY OWN, OVER 350,000 BOOKS!" And waych this: You Ready? I also own one of the largest Record and Book Distribution
Companies in the country! Actually it was more like 450 books, but I only read 10% of them. As for whether I speed read or not, the answer is yes! I do....But here's a question that I have wanted to ask, "What kind of music do you like, if any?

Well, I guess you can tell by my name, Jass (Jazz) is what I love most. But I listen to just about everything else. Rock, Classic Rock, HipHop, country, Soul, Reggae, Classical, you name it! And if we ever talk by phone, you will hear just about everything jumping out at ya at some time or the other.

    Thanks for the add !

What did I find interesting ? Nurse + bibliophile + cook + gardener + rider + pet lover + writer ... that's a lot of things for one person !!! ... plus, your pic looked nice. :)

I wonder how you manage to keep three cats as well as three guinea pigs as pets. It must be quite terrifying for the guinea pigs.

I just finished reading 40 books:

Many in which you may not be familiar. But, I am reading something called Jass: It's a documentary that comess in book form. It also comes in a 9 DVD set. Besides that, I have another $5,000.00 dollars worth of books coming tomorrow. So, It's kind of like a reading rainbow.
