“Another perfect story from Pat Conroy. Conroy is one of America's greatest treasures. I waited, along with the rest of the reading world, for this book. It was something like ten plus years and as usual, worth the wait. Pat Conroy touches me like no other writer. i think about his books long after I'm finished reading them. If I could meet one living writer it would be him.
He writes with such feeling. It's like he has to put it all out there; his innermost fears and his shortcomings. When I read his books I feel like I'm reading his diary. It's almost like he has to put these things down on paper to make them go away or to deal with them. I can't think of another writer who gives so much of himself to his stories. Then again I could be all wrong, maybe it is really just fiction and none of his inner feelings are in the story at all.
The only negative aspect about a Pat Conroy book is they end. I hope it's not another ten years until his next book. ”
