An original story about a futuristic survival game to the death. Everything is televised in this new world and there is a wonderful female protaganist. This is very thought provoking and possible. The characters were very realistic under extreme circumstances and I can't wait for the sequel.

You get acne when you worry. The narrator of this memoir is caught smuggling hash into New York harbor. This is his story of a teen making dumb decisions because he doesn't think of the consequences - he just acts. His saving grace is his desire to write and his writing will eventually set him free. This is a good quick read. 921 GAN

Not what I expected. It was a slow start and a race to the finish. Story of a post WWII family in New York trying to put the pieces together. The dad is antsy and takes his wife and step daughter to West Palm Beach FL in the off season to try to put things right in his life. The teen heroine discovers romance and prejudice while the parents get embroiled in bad business and an illicit romance. Realistic fiction of a times gone by when our anything goes morality was not the style.

Charlie is trying to figure out teen life and the life of his peers. He really doesn't have an opinion but experiences and watches some crazy stuff. Charlie's high school curriculum is much larger that the 3 Rs, it also includes a dose of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. This book should provoke some thoughts from the reader and help the reader reach some personal opinions.

Roberto , an Italian teen is captured by the Germans and later the Russians finds his way back to Italy and the resistance movement. This book paints a grim but heroic picture of the war in Italy. Very readable and engaging.

A whopper of a book about a young teen who is always planning and re-planning for his imaginary band. He is a dork but then even an outcaste can get pulled into some strange situations like when he finds his dead father's copy of "Catcher in the Rye" which leads him on a quest and some hot girls.

An odd book but engaging because it was in SF & Berkeley. It also proves that kids are resiliant, and their big brothers.
