Always an avid reader, even to the extent I used to read the back of bus tickets, with eclectic tastes. I do enjoy historical fiction, anything political, science, gardening, hiking and walking books, theology, thrillers, anything to do with aircraft and steam railways, to name but a few.

Always an avid reader, even to the extent I used to read the back of bus tickets, with eclectic tastes. I do enjoy historical fiction, anything political, science, gardening, hiking and walking books, theology, thrillers, anything to do with aircraft and steam railways, to name but a few.
Married to Kate and living in west Dorset, growing vegetables and travelling and enjoying the company of our daughter, her man and dog and friends and family who seem to enjoy our hospitality, or Kate's cooking, or both. I can also be found, occasionally awake, at Taunton, watching Somerset play cricket; and I still subject myself to the torture of following Tranmere Rovers, but rarely now visiting Prenton Park, which us just up the road from where I grew up, on the banks of the River Mersey.
