    Greetings baum,
You have a wonderful library! I saw at least one book about Vietnam. I started a group on Vietnam but so far I haven't captured any interest so I thought I would find others who have read books about the Vietnam War and may wish to discuss them and share their books.

    Hi Steve,

The Science Fiction Book Club makes for a massive shared canon... :-) Though Floyd Clymer is a different beast altogether. Heh.

Seeing Clymer's book in your list was a surprise to me as well. My Granddad introduced my to steam engines and they were active in the threshing bee circuit in Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa until the late 1970s. He donated a bunch of stuff he had, tractors, steam engines, stationary engines, separators, binders, reapers -- acres and acres of stuff -- to the Ag Hall in Bonner Springs. At one time I was a licensed boiler operator in the state of Kansas as the JayCees in McLouth KS were nervous about a 16 year old kid running a 40 horse Avery at the fairground.

The largest engine I was ever in charge of (in 1972 when I was 16) was a 110 horse Case. The one with the weird cab on top at the big bee in Mt Pleasant Iowa. What a monster! Whee!

When I smell coal smoke I get all nostalgic and emotional for those times...

    Anyway, than

Bravo!! The sheer volume of your library is impressive. Dare I ask what a few of your favorite books/authors are?
