And I thought the Collier-esque hording of books was my forte! Now I can tell my husband that I'm not the only one with tons of books & no time to read them! Thanks for giving the hoarders of the world hope!

You are the greatest book anaconda I've so far encountered here at Shelfari :)
I'm a 21 year old manic depressive who gets my balance through the company of books since I was four. I would like to salute you Sir for this fantastic and inspiring profile. Some day, I sure hope to meet you in person...and I hope you infect more people to love reading all the more. - Andrea Toledo, Philippines.

I belive in human beings as readers--NOT CORPORATIONS! As far as I'm concerned, you--a fine human being--have the number one largest shelf on this site. I'm pissed at the conduct of a certain corporate being hereabouts! Be well, friend!

Hello Baum! I'm just wondering about one thing. What is your occupation? And, how can you go around your shedules and alter it (or do anything) just to find enough time to read. I'm just 19 years old, so it might be helpful for me if you could give me any suggestion of how to maintain reading books even after you start working and starting your family. Besides, can you tell me, what's the different between your shelf list and your reading list (in the website). I'm also having a problem to catalouge my book shelves at home (and I'm thinking about catalouging it online so I still can keep track of my book shelves even while I'm away from home). Can your help me with the different between shelf list, reading list, and wish list asap, please?

hi.. given that u have started at age of 5, assuming ur age is around 40. so by this calculation it take around 129 books/yr or 3 days for a book. i know a book can be finished in 3 days. but maintain that consistency is the thing i am unable to digest.. (it needs a unimaginable effor)

Like your shelf. Love college station!!! I miss it sooo much! Have you been to Layne's? If not you must go. God, I wish I had some right now. Also (I am totally going to spell this wrong) Koppe Bridge is fantastic. Ahh, college food. I even miss Rumors at 2am with a huge crowd of people. Your avatar is kinda creepy. Where did you find it?

Yeah, I know how that goes! (The inability to get rid of books, I mean.) I'm currently in the process of changing coordinates, and in doing so, I'm having to make some very hard decisions about selling or giving away some of my books, movies, etc. On top of this moving thing, I'm a senior in high school, I have a job that's working me almost 30 hours a week (always after school and weekends), and I have church activities 2 days a week. Yeah, so my life is seriously crazy right now, and kicking me in the ass. Anyways, my point is, I know how you feel about not being able to let those books go.

Hi. I noticed you have the largest Shelfari shelf on here. I was wondering if you could tell me some of the books you have that are fiction and around the teen/young adult reading level? I do read higher levels than this, but those are what I'm most interested in right now. How did your Shelf get to be so large? Have you just read books your entire life and put them on here? Sorry about all the questions. TTYL.

I notice we share interest in some of the same books! I have just joined Shelfari! I am always looking for a new friend who loves books! My name is Larry Montello, and I live in Marshall, Minnesota. I just moved back here about ten months ago from Arizona! I was born in Montclair, New Jersey. My ethnic heritage is Italian, Scot, Irish, German, Canadian, and God knows what else. I have eight children, all from my marriage to Dawn, that ended over six years ago. Only three of my children live in Minnesota at the present time, (a couple of hours away from here),, but I talk to all of them frequently on the phone and they often visit. In my life I have lived in 14 different US states and traveled in 48. I have also traveled quite a lot in Canada, and some in Mexico. No where else YET! In the past I have been, among other things, a school teacher, small business owner, manager, waiter, hospital technician, salesman, and delivery driver. Now I have an overnight job at Walmart, but who knows how long that will last! I have always been a inquisitive and curious person, which explains my university degrees. They are in geography, history, political science and English Literature. I primarily went to universities to LEARN things not just to pursue career or financial goals. Oh well! Probably does not make much sense to a lot of people. I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies. Among my interests are: history, geography, cultures, music, literature, art, science, railroads, nature and wildlife. Among my hobbies are: reading, listening to music, watching movies, taking care of my pets, collecting stamps, postcards, books, sports memorabilia, and maps. I love animals and have quite a number, including: a dog, (Jack), two cats,(Lilly and Siggy), three cockateils, a tortoises, and eight water turtles. Hopefully your new friend, Larry
