I am a husband, father, teacher, blogger, and geocacher. I am a reader. I am again beginning to chronicle my books. Learning from past mistakes, I am taking it slowly.

Enjoy the process as I document the 1000+ books we have sitting around.

This book used to be part of the reading series I used teaching fourth grade. I was enamored with the story and purchased this copy for my home library. This is the third book in the trilogy that documents Rosa and her family. A fire destroyed their home and with it, their furniture.

Part of coping with the situation is Rosa's determination to purchase a chair for her mother who works very hard for the family.

The illustrations re wonderful and add to the story.

A funny story of how a dinosaur eats. One would think he would be clumsy, rude, and gruff. Yolen spins this story to teach an etiquette lesson of dining.

It's a fun read. The rhyme interested my one-year old boy as Daddy made funny expressions at the antics of the dinosaur.

The illustrations of Mark Teague are wonderful and truly add to the entertainment of the read.

Wonderful paintings of the little duck who is looking for a friend to play with. The language is rich with the onomatopoeia, rhythm, and alliteration.

I read this to my one-year old and he marveled at the colors. He sat nicely as he listened to the tale.
