I heard "The Twin" reviewed on NPR as a great book - so it's on my to-do list. Thanks to your encouragment, I'm going to set "Atlas Shrugged" aside and read one of the many great books I've been wanting to read. When I finally get to "The Twin" I'll let you know. :-)
So I just finished Await Your Reply. Wow. That was a great book! When I talked with you the other day, I thought I pretty much knew all of the twists, but I couldn't believe that Jay turned out to be Hayden too! Did you read the interview with the author at the end of the book? I absolutely love to hear about how an author developes a story. It is fascinating to think about the way Chaon developed this book. And I just heard another author interviewed on Fresh Air with Terri Gross -- and to hear the author describe how he "uncovered these peoples live and began to write about them and learn more about them..." when really they were characters he invented in his head, well I'm just in awe... What fun. :-) What where the two other books you recommended?
I'm sending an invite right now. You and I have a lot of books in common. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.....I've been having a hell of a time with logging in since December. The techs are working on it but it keeps me from being as active as I'd like to be.
Hey, glad you joined! I liked "You Remind Me of Me" - it was an interesting story. I just finished that author's book of short stories which were fabulous. I think it's called "Among the Missing" - not sure if I added it to my list yet or not. He develops characters in such a short story that you can really care about. Very cool! Your shelf is very impressive by the way! I've got to get back to mine and add the rest, although I don't have as many as you to add. :-)
