It is so beautifully written. I rarely buy books anymore but I think I will order a copy from Amazon. Thanks again.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sherlfari keeps reminding me that I am behind my pace from last year. Just haven't read any books that I could recomment recently but if I do, I'll pass it on to you.
Missed you last Thursday. It was a small group and I had a tough time with the presentation - had to fight the urge to take a nap. Several women actually did!

Everything is fine. I had a doctor's appointment that I had to keep. I did enjoy sitting with your Mom at Nancy Lopez. Would you pass on to her that Louise Penny has a new book "The Hanged Man" I believe is the title - library doesn't list it yet. I will see you next month at the Book Club. Hope all is well with you.

I remember you saying you were going to have a Reading Festival. the quilt is beautiful. I know how much work they are.
Don't punish yourself with Republic Lost. It took me from Cynicism to outright despair. He makes 3 key points: our representatives spend 30-70% of their time fund raising; their votes reflect PAC, Lobbyist and Campaign funding to them; the Citizens United ruling opened the flood gate for the wealthy to support politicians with awesome amounts of money. In essence, the wealthy vote every day $1000 at a time, while the rest of us have our voice heard only on election day.

Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well. If you like political books, I'd recommend Lawrence Lessig's Republic Lost.

The first one I read was the Maid of Fairborne Hall. I'm currently reading The Lady of Milkweed Manor. So far, so good....

I'll have to put it on my 'to read' list! I've been reading Julie Klassen's books & thoroughly enjoyed them. Recommended it to a patron who said she couldn't put it down!!

No, I am very behind in pleasure reading!!! I am now halfway through Backseat Saints and LOVE IT! I chose to read it since my car rides are no longer solitary.

The flowers are a photo I took at the Chittendon Locks in Ballard, Washington. I don't know what they were.

I also listened to Between, Georgia ... I have put a hold on Backseat Saints in print. Now that the kids ride to school with me I don't get much chance to listen to audio books! If I have trouble getting into it I'll have to find a way to listen to it!

I have listened to: Gods in Alabama and The Girl Who Stopped Swimming.

I haven't had much time for reading either but my schedule has opened up a bit! So I'm trying to take advantage of that!
