Forsyth picks up on Isabeau's journey right where it left off in the third book with the same surprising twists of plot and extremely compelling storytelling that got me hooked to the series in the first place.
I was actually reluctant to pick up this book thinking I needed a little break after re-reading the first three and then the fourth one after the other but it starts off so strong that I couldn't put it down. It seems that the fourth book in itself was the break I needed.

With this book comes a greater development of the characters as well as a heightening of the plot as the story reaches its final stretch. The plot and style are thoroughly executed in Forsyth's unfaltering style. After so many volumes, I'll admit that I'm still as excited about the story as I was when I first picked up Volume One to read so many years ago.
