    Captivating from the very beginning.

Not my cup of tea. This was the first Fannie Flagg book I have read. I hate to say, I may not pick up another one. I was fine until I got to the skeleton "hanging" in the wardrobe. Real skeletons won't hang!! Too unbelievable and campy for me.

This book is 700+ pages of amazing. Don't let the size of this book scare you. This is a must read!

This was a beautiful story of the bonds between friends and the ever-present misunderstandings within those bonds.

I really only want to give this 2-1/2 stars. I didn't hate this book, but I would not recommend it either. This book was too tedious at times. This is not a novel that you can put down and pick up serval days later without difficulty. I found that I had to go back and review the last few pages to remember where I was in the story.

Interesting story. I am not sure it was worth 400 pages.

The only regret I have is that I could not read this in one sitting!

5 stars for BEST BEACH READ! Fun, romance, suspense, delight, and just the right amount of snarky remarks. Everything I look for in a beach read. I look forward to these every summer.

I have always admired Condolezza. What an "extraordinary, ordinary person" she is. Reading this it feels as if she was truly destined for the life she has led. This book left me wanting to know more. The years she spent in the White House with G.W. were not covered in this account. Will there be a sequel of sorts?

Absolutely beautiful and wonderfully descriptive writing. I have not heard the term snakedoctor used for a dragonfly since I was a kid. I did feel that the book was a little predictable.
