I am a book-loving maniac who reads books in the driver's seat of his car at traffic crossings while waiting for the light to turn green (why waste a moment?).

There is so much to learn from good books - the best vicarious experience one can get. There is a limit as to how much one can learn from one's OWN experience. As a famous quote goes, the man who learns from his OWN experience is destined to continue learning from his OWN experience! As Charlie Munger, one of my role models, has said, "You don't have to try it to learn not to pee on an electrified fence!"

I enjoy reading books on real-life experiences of OTHER people who are outliers i.e. extreme successes or extreme failures. One must learn from both. One can emulate the success stories and one can learn from failures too as in "all I want to know is where I'm going to die, so I never go there."

Mark Twain was obviously right, when he said that the man who does not read great books has no particular advantage over the man who CAN'T read them!
