A few weeks ago my friend Larry recommended this book to me and I will be forever grateful to him because it has now become one of the most beloved and treasured stories that I have ever read in my entire life. In fact, if I had the power to speak to everyone on this planet at the exact same time for 15 minutes, as part of my speech I would say, "Please read this book, so that you can be introduced to this amazing woman named Jeannette Walls who is like a rainbow after a long rain storm...a cool swim in the ocean on a sweltering day...a smile from a stranger when you're feeling down.

Her purity of heart, down-to-earth beautiful spirit and unconditional love of her family, self and life around her will stay with you for the rest of YOUR life, I kid you not.

After finishing this book I immediately took to my computer because I was so hungry for more information on this incredibly intriguing person. I found an excellent in-depth interview with Jeannette done by Cindy Bokma and if you are interested in reading it here it is and enjoy it, guys! :)

  • Why I Am a Democrat

Mr. Sorensen describes all of the reasons why the Democrats have chosen to BE Democrats. Have you ever thought about why creative people such as artists, writers, actors, musicians, etc. are members of this party? :)

  • A Walk Across America
    • Rated 5 stars

How many people do YOU know have decided to take a walk across America? Well Peter Jenkins did and he found more than just scenery, he found the living beings and their inidividual personalities that compliment the scenery.

A fascinating glimpse not only into Peter Jenkins' mind and the minds of the people he met along his journey, but you will realize that strangers can be merely one step away from becoming life-long friends.

If I could give this book 100 stars here I would because it is so excellent a story about courage and honesty and indeed life's greatest lesson that I just wish every single person who can read the written word would read this book and recommend it and so on and so on and so on and so on.

  • All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten

This man has amazing insight! I just love the way he made the connection between Kindergarten learning and the ongoing school of Adult Life in this world of ours. Very simple and yet very powerful.

This book will forever haunt me as it is a testament of what a human being can endure once he returns from a battlefield. In MY opinion, the definitive anti-war book.

  • Taking the Bully by the Horns - Children's Version of the Best Selling Book, "Nasty People"
    • Rated 5 stars

I'm not saying this book is the definitive children's "bullying instructional book" because my friend Kathy wrote it; I'm saying it because it is the truth. Read it and learn how to deal with bullying personalities before your child should ever face a bully in his/her life.

  • Gandhi, an Autobiography
    • Rated 4 stars

As a person who believes in non-violent action for our world, I was compelled to read this book about the man who so many revere. Once I had closed the book, I knew that Gandhi wasn't really who I had expected and I was deeply disappointed by the hypocrisy I saw.
