I’m an English major and think I might want to get into teaching. I love to knit and draw with chalk pastels. I spend three months in... more »

Love your bookshelf login. (Is there anything more beautiful than a full bookshelf?) I note that you are a Diana Palmer fan. Have you read Linda Lael Miller, Pam Crooks, Carolyn Davidson or Maggie Osborne? All of them write wonderful westerns, a genre that has been very hard to find of late, although I hear it is "coming back."

The Ordinary Princess is my favorite fairy tale, I've read it countless times. It's a little tongue in cheek humor, and a fun story. It's about a princess who's fairy godmother gives the gift of being ordinary. It upsets the entire kingdom, and when she grows up and her parents can't find someone to marry her they go to drastic measures. And so the princess starts out on an adventure that of course ends with happily ever after.
It's not exactly a retold fairy tale, but the whole story depends on her ordinariness, rather than her beauty or charm, etc. It's rather short, and could be read in just a few sittings or a long one. Definately get your hands on it if you're interested!
