In 2006 I picked up reading again. A dear friend - who is missed, now that I think about it - bought me a book that Christmas. It was probably meant as one of those 'filler' gifts, but it was so much more. If you're curious about which book, it was The Da Vinci Code. Needless to say - I was back on track.

Misty Evans writes a great thriller. The characters are lovable and easy to get attached to. The bad-guys are just as easily despised and properly handled. You'll love the way this one ends.

I loved how Misty's book brought the characters to life. I found myself despising the bad guy and having a crush on the heroine

overall - very informative, well thought out and different approach to Castles. It's more like a textbook of Castle theory and a slow read, but I did like what I learned from it.

Pretty cumbersome and predictable but it does have a few great lyrical lines.

in addition to liking this book quite a bit, I read it on a plane from Dallas to Seattle. The book was put in the carry-on, only after the last page.
This was my first book from Koontz. There will be more.

I loved this book. It is VERY "James Rollins" and ends well for those who've followed the last few books. Can't wait to get into the Doomsday Key.

It's very difficult to wrap my mind around the fact this was the original brain child of an 18 year old. Granted she modified later in life, but that original 'nightmare' of hers was (at best) sad. I would rather have read it not knowing her life history (plus a million and one other unneccesary facts given in B&Ns prelude to the novel) yet it was still exciting, not to mention - again - sad.

Even though I enjoyed the book - you can't help but wonder whether on not something was "missing" due to loss in translation. Regardless it's uplifting and a smooth 3 day read.
