Well where to start, I'm a college student, that wishes she had more time to read but from reading for class and working and doing well college things, its hard to find the time sometimes. I grew up in a small town where I befriended my school librarian and because of her would love to one day become one, my family always told me to do it too.... more »

This book takes place in the early 20th century, following the life of Hadley Richardson. She's in her late 20's, unmarried and not sure if she ever will. That is until she goes to Chicago to visit a long time childhood friend. It is in Chicago that she meets the man that turns out to be the love of her life, Ernest Hemingway. From that moment on, the two of them are inseparable and not more than a year later are married and on their way to Paris, where Ernest can concentrate on his writing and become more focused. This book is a fictional book based on true events, following the up and downs of The Hemingway's marriage, and eventually the end of something that all of their friends thought would never end.

For me this book was actually really good. However, for me it got really painful to read the parts about Pauline and Ernest. I think for me it was that I could actually relate to Hadley really well. I feel like we have very similar personalities. Thus being said, I think that it was overall a well written book and one that is actually worth the read, in my opinion.

After 6 hard years, Janusz and Silvanna are reunited in their new home, England with their son, Aurek. They are refugees from Poland after WWII and cannot go back to their homeland. Both trying to cope with secrets of the war, they are finally trying to live as a family again. However, the demons that live inside them, and Jan's want to have the perfect English family and the perfect English son, drives them apart and makes it hard for Silvanna to cope with her new surroundings.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was one that I would recommend to anyone that really enjoys this time period. I didn't see her secret coming really. The author just kind of zoomed right over it in the flashbacks, but when she went back over it, its kind of obvious and made you think of how a child would have survived an explosion like that.

Aza is no a member of the court. She's not a princess, a lady or even a maid. She's an innkeepers daughter, a innkeepers daughter that makes great changes.

I thought this book was overall pretty good. It wasn't in my opinion as good as Ella Enchanted but still good none the less. I think I had a harder time believing this story over Ella, but for a little girl that likes these types of stories, a great one.

Ronnie is your typical 17 year old, pissed off at the world and don't want to deal with the rentals. However, a summer in North Carolina changes her from the 17 year old to the 18 year old and the woman that she is meant to be. With love, run in with the law, self realization, as well as other typical events, it is quite the eventful summer.

I thought this book was WAY better than the movie, although I couldn't help picture Miley and the Hottie that played will while reading it. I actually cried in the end. First book in a long time to do that.

This book continues the life of Maddie, Zoe and Angela. This book takes them into their junior year and deals with the life lessons that many teenagers deal with. This one was again on the Most Challenged list for the ALA and was once again something that I could see why parents would have issues with it. However, with the appropriate age this book is actually quite insightful for the influential age.

This story is that of Roy and Silo, two chinstrap Penguins in the Central Park Zoo in New York. These two penguins are both boys and are both in love with each other and want nothing more then the have a family. Finally they are given that chance and they are allowed to be happy again.

This book is on the 2009 ALA's most challenged list. I can see why this one in due to the subject matter. It was over all a good book and one that I would definitely read to my nephew and my future children to show them that no matter what, everyone should have the chance to have a family.

This book for the age group that it is targeting is actually quite acceptable. It talks about issues that many 10th graders go through everyday.
