    I love Florida.

    DRACULA: Hearts of Stone.
Enter this world of magical vampires. It’s a place where enchantment and biters interweave for an exciting adventure.
It’s a tale of magic, romance and fangs; a tale of valor.
We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a new novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone.

    OR

"Madman in the Mirror" is a story about a man - Henry Johnson - who is raised by a psychopath and forced to watch - even as a baby - his father murder people on a regular basis. He is also abused and brainwashed, turning him into a sociopath. Henry stalks and murders people efficiently - he tells himself that he may be a killer, but he doesn't want people to suffer. He is haunted by hallucinations, including a specter in his mirror that talks to him.
“A.J. is a master at creating word images that remain with the reader long after the book is finished.” Richard S. Friedman

    The Ancient One says

    Today

    By Deepak Chopra

Today I will judge nothing that occurs

Today I will ask how can I serve and how can I help all
those I come into contact with

Today I will practice silence sometime during the day

Today I will commune with nature and to silently witness
the intelligence within every living thing

Today I will silently send everyone I meet a blessing,
wishing them happiness, joy, and laughter

Today I will gratefully receive all the gifts that life has
    to offer

Today I will witness the choices I make in each moment
whenever I make a choice I will ask myself
"will this choice that I am making now bring
happiness to me and to those around me"

Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances,
    and events as they occur

Today I will feel no need to convince or persuade
others to accept my point of view

Today I will accept the present as it is, and manifest
the future through my deepest, most
    cherished intentions and desires

Today I will commit myself to detachment and I will
allow myself and those around me the
freedom to be as they are

Today I will step into the field of all possibilities and
anticipate the excitement that can occur
when I remain open to an infinity of choices.
    TODAY

Today, Lord, let my life be a prayer,

Let me be so close to you that you become a part of my every conversation.

Let me be open to your presence so that I sense your power at work in the world you created.

Let me be so filled with your love, it flows out to others.

Today, Lord, today let my life be a prayer.

Hi Annie, Welcome and thank you for joining our Bibliophile Club group. I hope that you will derive a lot of pleasure from your new group and will find the discussions interesting. You may want to join James in his book of the months theme. July's book was Thief by Marcus Zusak, excellent read, or you may prefer to read your own list of books. We hope that you will find the discussions interesting and may want to join us and participate in our discussions. We also have a thought of the day thread , so that if you can place your favorite quote. If you have any questions about this group, please ask me or my co- admins, James, Earl, Kelsey, Sarah, Liway and Paul. Welcome aboard and enjoy you reading, Silvana

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I or Mossflower can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let us know.
If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845. A downloadable list of the second edition is available at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?page_id=160.
