Thank you for thinking I am awesome ~ LOL!! This was my first time reading 'Bizarro' fiction. I was doing on challenge on Goodreads and it was part of the challenge to venture into this genre. While I love dark fiction, most of these short stories were a little to 'out there' for me. I guess the drug-scence thing just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe if it had been just one of the stories. I noticed you also gave it 2 star. I will still look into this genre and now I know who's shelf I can come look at when I need a recommendation!!

Ah, the Welsh counter to all the Scottishness! I've read his first one (Revelation Space) and enjoyed it, and keep meaning to have a pop at some more. But whenever I get close, I forget which is meant to be the next one in the series...

Intriguing, thankee. Sounds like Morgan might leave me rather exhausted, although I might still give him a look at some point. Nowt wrong with guilty pleasures, after all...

That magical Scotland science fiction thing is odd, isn't it? I think Ken McLeod even lived down the road from Iain Banks at one point.

He's an odd but fun one isn't he? I never thought he was one of my absolute favourites, but then one day I suddenly realised I'd read pretty much everything he'd written. And he'd written quite a lot. So yes, I'm now convinced he's ace. Can't quite decide whether I prefer him with or without the M. Some great things at both ends, in very different ways. I think my favourites on either side are The Bridge and Look to Windward, but there's plenty to choose from.

There's some intriguing stuff on your favourites list - things I really want to get round to reading. What's this Richard Morgan chap like?

He certainly is highly regarded. I have not read many books in this genre. So it takes some acclimation.
