I love graphics novels and science fiction; Anything that's out of the ordinary. My favourite author's probably Neil Gaiman or Margaret Atwood.

Five stars for being my personal favourite out of the HP series.

I think a great deal of this book is lost on people with no familiarity to pulp fiction stories that Atwood parodies.

Rich Fulcher covers every single aspect of modern life in this book. So much so that by the end the reader becomes hyper aware of etiquette and convenances, like being buried in a hill of socially mobile fire ants. Rich's weirdly written demands to "eff some shiz up ... find an empty table and swipe a disposable camera" at a friends wedding to give them some real memories of that happy day, or "YELL! RANDOM! INAPPROPRIATE! SYPHILITIC SQUID!" are difficult to ignore.

I wish I could have read this book when I was 13-15. Shauna Cross writes a truer account of teenage life then most authors, though I felt the book was a little short and at times simplistic. An extra star for the derby action though. ;)

Enjoyable but have to suspend disbelief at the child character's naivete for their age. Also don't see how the English puns could work if the characters are German.

Depressing to read, but the imagery is beautiful.

I can only really see this appealing to tweens reading it in wide eyed admiration or adults reading it ironically for a laugh, two catagories I don't fall into.
