As the daughter of a former British spy and a jet-setting Italian, you’d think that Sarah MacLean would have a unbelievable life story—haggling in the bazaars of Morocco, shopping on the Champs-Élysées, scaling ancient Mayan temples. Sadly, she doesn't. Her adventurous parents settled down in Rhode Island long before Sarah was born, leaving her little choice but to turn to books to find her own adventure.
By high school, Sarah was thoroughly obsessed with historical romance and bemoaning the fact that she was born nearly two centuries too late for her own season. Through a stroke of good luck, she found herself at Smith College, where she discovered a group of friends who shared her love of historical fiction. They traded romances, talked Austen and lusted over Colin Firth.
After college, Sarah moved to New York City, where she took a job in publishing, bouncing through several jobs and a graduate degree at Harvard University before finally setting pen to paper and writing her first novel.
Sarah writes young adult and adult romance from her apartment in Brooklyn, NY, where she lives with her husband, their dog, and a ridiculously large collection of romance novels. She loves to hear from readers.
