Michael B. Sheperd is Assistant Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew in the Christian Studies Division of Louisiana College. He received his Ph. D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina under the supervision of John H. Sailhamer (now retired). Shepherd has authored three books: The Verbal System of Biblical Aramaic: A Distributional Approach (Lang, 2008), Daniel in the Context of the Hebrew Bible (Lang, 2009), and The Twelve Prophets in the New Testament (Lang, 2010). Much like Sailhamer, Shepherd holds to a compositional view of the Old Testament and emphasizes a focus on the text as the locus of meaning in interpretation.
