John Wagner is a comics writer born in America in 1949 but moved to Scotland as a boy.
He is best known for his work within british comics in the 1970s which led to his work with weekly british comic book 2000AD, for which he created Judge Dredd.
In 2005 his graphic novel 'A History Of Violence' was adapted into a film, directed by David Cronenberg ('The Fly' fame) and starring Viggo Mortensen (Aaragorn in Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy).
