Benoît Duteurtre is licensed in musicology at Rouen University (France), but his interest about music was equally as his interest about writing. He started to write his first novelettes at the age 15th. He was encouraged to continue his work Armand Salacrou, a dramaturg from Le Havre. In 1982 we find Benoît Duteurtre living his boema in Paris, changing jobs and playing piano. He published 15 novels and lots of essays and even he succeed to obtain the recognition of French Academy, is still remaining a controversial figure.
