Stieg Larsson was the editor-in-chief of the anti-racist magazine "Expo" and for 20 years the graphics editor at a Swedish news agency. A leading expert on anti-democratic, right-wing extremist and Nazi organizations, he died in 2004 at age of 50 from a heart attack. Shortly before his death, he delivered the Millenium Trilogy manuscripts to his publisher. Unfortunately, he never lived to see the huge international success of his three novels.
When he died, he was working on the fourth Millenium book. It is doubtful that it ever will be concluded and published. One reason being the argument between his life companion of 15 years, Eva Gabrielsson and his brother and father. His family has refused to give his long term girlfriend any of the proceeds from the hugely successful books. Stieg's girlfriend currently holds the manuscript of the fourth book. In a CBS interview on October 11, Larsson's brother, Joakim, confirmed that a fourth book does exist. "I got an e-mail from Stieg 10 days before he died, where he said that book four is nearly finished," Joakim said in the interview. There's a twist though: "To make it more complicated, this book No. 4 -- that's book No. 5, because he thought that was more fun to write."
