Gail Dayton lives on the Texas Gulf coast with her husband of 30+ years, enjoying the beach and the empty nest. Her first published book,
Hide-and-Sheikh, was a finalist for the Romance Writers of America's 2002 RITA award for Best First Book.
Her Convenient Millionaire, Gail's second book, also a Silhouette Desire, won the 2004 Aspen Gold award for Best Contemporary Romance. Then she was able to return to her first love, fantasy.
Gail has loved fantasy and science fiction since she was young enough she still thought kissing was icky, reading the juvenile books of Andre Norton, Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein before she hit fourth grade. So the opportunity to write for LUNA was a dream come true.
The Compass Rose was a finalist for Best Fantasy in the 2006 Prism Awards, and
The Barbed Rose won the Prism in 2007 for Best Fantasy. The third book in The One Rose trilogy,
The Eternal Rose, came out from Juno Books in fall 2007.
In March 2009, Tor Books will publish Gail's next book,
New Blood, set in a Victorian-era world where magic is as common as patent medicines, in their Paranormal Romance imprint.
Gail's blog is
Dreaming in Daylight, and she also posts at the
2 B Read blog of the Published Authors chapter of RWA.
